This Business Development Coordinator role may be filled remotely in any city with a Husch Blackwell office or in select locations on a hybrid basis.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain an understanding of assigned practice group’s attorneys, client base, experience, and market capabilities.
- Collaborate with the Business Development, Marketing, and Communications department and Technology, Manufacturing, & Transportation (TMT) SBU leadership to drive marketing and business development projects and initiatives.
- Partner with Internal Communications to promote team and attorney successes, speaking engagements, conference attendance, and other relevant activity.
- Proofread marketing collateral and client-facing materials for accuracy, clarity, consistency, brand compliance, and professionalism; verify current firm experience, accolades, and other relevant information.
- Draft pitches, presentations, attorney biographies, and informational sheets to support new business opportunities and showcase capabilities.
- Maintain business development databases (e.g., RFP/pitch database, representative matters, case studies, budget requests, ROI).
- Track ROI for projects and key initiatives and prepare related reports.
- Manage firm mailing list systems and create targeted invitation lists for events, webinars, and outreach.
- Coordinate attorneys’ involvement in professional, trade, and industry organizations, sponsorships, and events.
- Support BDMC teams in developing deliverables for speaking engagements, sponsorships, advertisements, PR, social media, and other visibility initiatives.
- Respond to business intelligence research requests and collaborate with the research team to deliver useful reports.
- Plan and execute TMT SBU events and webinars.
- Provide general support for business development and marketing projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field, or commensurate professional and educational experience.
- 2–4 years of relevant experience, preferably in a law firm, professional services environment, or applicable industry.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to assemble and proofread pitches, proposals, collateral, research reports, and client-facing presentations.
- Ability to respond promptly and proactively communicate challenges or delays.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and internet research tools; knowledge of InterAction and Foundation a plus.
- Professional demeanor and appearance; ability to build trust and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills; ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Adaptability to changing business needs and high attention to detail.
- Experience with scheduling tools (e.g., Outlook, Teams, Zoom) preferred.
Pay
The expected annual compensation ranges for this position by location are:
- California: $52,000 – $106,000
- Colorado: $48,000 – $85,000
- Connecticut: $41,000 – $105,000
- Illinois: $47,000 – $91,000
- Maine: $35,000 – $82,000
- Maryland: $50,000 – $76,000
- Massachusetts: $52,000 – $99,000
- Minnesota: $52,000 – $86,000
- Jersey City, NJ: $57,000 – $102,000
- New York: $48,000 – $105,000
- Vermont: $51,000 – $99,000
- Virginia: $34,000 – $99,000
- Washington: $50,000 – $96,000
- Washington, D.C.: $67,000 – $99,000
Compensation does not include a discretionary bonus, which is non-guaranteed and dependent on individual and firm performance.
