The Job At-A-Glance

We are seeking an Analyst to join our Business Development team. The Analyst will support the procurement of new business opportunities and assist with key deliverables across acquisitions, underwriting, market analysis, and strategic initiatives. This role provides a great opportunity for career growth within a dynamic and expanding company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cook up tactics to hit company goals and growth targets
  • Underwrite new management opportunities to ensure solid and mutually beneficial business terms, including rent rolls, operating statements, capital budgeting, and NOI projections
  • Analyze target markets, growth opportunities, and asset potential using industry data sources, market trends, competitor analysis, and enrollment metrics. Create stabilized pro forma budgets and income & expense projections
  • Develop comprehensive market surveys and rental rate evaluations
  • Keep a financial and operational database for internal tracking
  • Spot value-add opportunities and suggest strategic initiatives
  • Aid with underwriting and due diligence for acquisitions or new management contracts
  • Develop KPIs and track them
  • Carry out competitive analysis of property interiors, amenities, and resident services
  • Examine property staffing, payroll, and operational programming (utilities, trash, internet, etc.)
  • Identify potential business development contacts and coordinate outreach
  • Review and analyze T12s and provide side-by-side comparisons
  • Create presentations and reporting materials (PowerPoint proficiency required)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, or a related Business field preferred
  • At least 1-3 years of experience in student housing, multifamily, real estate investment, consulting, or property management analytics
  • Strong proficiency with Excel and financial modeling
  • CRM and analytic tools experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of GAAP principles
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Yardi and/or Entrata experience preferred
  • Understanding of multifamily and student housing operations is a plus
  • Available for limited travel as needed
