Responsibilities

  • Learn about financial and credit analysis of public and private companies, with a focus on leveraged finance, distressed situations, restructurings, liability management transactions, and special situations.
  • Support maintenance of internal watchlists and databases tracking distressed companies, sponsor-backed borrowers, capital markets activity, and creditor ownership trends.
  • Aid in the creation of company profiles, “tearsheets,” watchlist summaries, and briefing materials for attorneys and business development professionals.
  • Maintain awareness of financial markets, rating agency actions, earnings releases, restructuring developments, bankruptcy filings, and special situations across various industries.
  • Conduct research on private equity sponsors, lenders, portfolio companies, boards of directors, executive management teams, and advisor relationships.
  • Assist with preparing notes for client meetings.
  • Engage in ad hoc research projects focusing on restructuring matters, private credit, leveraged loans, high-yield bonds, and sponsor-backed companies.
  • Collaborate with business development, restructuring, finance, and corporate attorneys on strategic client and market development initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Rising junior or senior currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, Political Science, Pre-Law, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in pursuing a long-term career in finance, restructuring, investment banking, private credit, private equity, law, or a related professional services field.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in financial analysis, including interpretation of financial statements, credit metrics, leverage ratios, liquidity analysis, and capital structures.
  • Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of information into concise, actionable written summaries.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with financial databases and research platforms is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Pay

$25.00/hour.
