About the role

The Business Development Manager is a key leadership position responsible for identifying, developing, and advancing business and economic development opportunities that support the long-term growth and prosperity of Serpent River First Nation and SRFN LP. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, securing funding, and coordinating initiatives from concept through implementation.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate new business and economic development opportunities.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with potential investors, businesses, and government agencies.
• Initiate, coordinate, and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets.
• Research funding opportunities and coordinate applications and proposals.
• Facilitate community consultations and stakeholder engagement sessions.

Requirements

• Post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Economic Development, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in business development or project management.
• Knowledge of First Nation governance and community-led economic development.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
• Valid Ontario Class G Driver’s Licence and access to a reliable vehicle.

Qualified Serpent River First Nation members or Indigenous applicants will be given priority consideration.
