Job Description
UPS US Marketing is looking for a talented and driven Business Data Scientist to drive its strategic objectives in the areas of pricing, revenue management, market analysis and evidence/data based decision making. This role will work across multiple channels and teams to drive tangible results in the organization.
Responsibilities
- Become a subject matter expert on UPS business processes, data and analytical capabilities to help define and solve business needs using data and statistical methods
- Analyze and extract insights from large-scale structured and unstructured data utilizing multiple platforms and tools
- Understand and apply appropriate methods for cleaning and transforming data
- Work across multiple stakeholders to develop, maintain and improve models in production
- Take the initiative to create and execute analyses in a proactive manner
- Deliver complex analytical and visualizations to broader audiences including upper management and executives
- Understand the application of advanced analytics to solve complex business problems
Qualifications
- MS in a quantitative discipline and 2+ years of relevant work experience or Ph.D in a STEM field
- Proficiency in Python and SQL
- Experience in applied statistics and analytics utilizing programming languages (Ex: Python or R)
- Proficient in cloud computing using Azure and Google cloud environments
- Proficient in data concepts and transformation methods
- Effective presentation skills utilizing PowerPoint and visualization methods to explain complex concepts
- Experience in reporting and analytics using dashboards (PowerBI, Tableau, Looker, etc.)
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with pricing methodologies and revenue management
- Experience using PySpark, Azure Databricks, Google Bigquery and Vertex AI
- Creativity and implementation of AI and GenAI based projects
- Familiarity with Data architecture and engineering
