About the role
Enhance operational efficiency and visibility, and improve business decision-making through the evaluation and construction of business analytics tools and insights.
Responsibilities
- Discover opportunities and explore processes with various departments to aggregate and normalize data components.
- Analyze and interpret results, then present solutions to enable increased performance while developing KPIs and metrics to measure their utilization and value impact.
- Continually audit, improve, and maintain the existing suite of analytic solutions through system and process changes.
- Perform systems management and integration functions, improve existing computer systems, and review computer system capabilities, workflow, and limitations.
- Analyze or recommend commercially available software.
- Proactively seek out operational issues and opportunities for improvement through researching from multiple perspectives, data analysis, personnel interviews, and process analysis.
- Consult end users to identify opportunities, gather and document requirements, develop reporting logic, and deploy reporting to meet business needs.
- Utilize technology resources, applications, and data (SQL, Power BI, SharePoint, etc.) to develop innovative tools, reporting, and analyses.
- Construct algorithms/logic via SQL that provide solutions, enabling end users for better decision-making.
- Ensure constructed reporting and analyses are defined, efficient, and scalable.
- Independently audit usage, accuracy, and value of deployed projects and reporting.
- Provide expert advice to analytics consumers on solution utilization and process improvement opportunities.
- Continuously research, learn, and develop technical and business skills for complex data analytics.
- Pursue opportunities for improved reporting efficiency through continuous consolidation and proactive management of data relationships and disparate data sources.
- Maintain, analyze, manage, and improve comprehensive internal and external reporting and analytic solutions catalog.
- Utilize analytic tools to ensure and maintain accuracy through business and system changes, evaluate user performance, and identify areas for exception management and profitability improvements.
- Maintain current education on business processes, system functionality, existing reporting, and technical capabilities.
- Manage and support data integration between operational systems.
- Verify that new systems and software are implemented effectively and test systems to ensure they work properly.
- Up to 5% U.S. domestic travel to various unanticipated worksites is required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- 1 year of experience as a Business Data Analyst, Data Analyst Intern, Design Researcher, or a related analytical occupation.
- Experience with advanced Microsoft Excel, advanced SQL, and Power BI.
- Must have legal authority to work in the U.S.
