Business Data Analyst
About the role
The Business Data Analyst will work with business and IT partners to turn data into meaningful insights, dashboards, and reporting that support operational and strategic decisions across Koch Engineered Solutions' Equipment, Technology, and Services (ET&S) business.
Responsibilities
- Partner with stakeholders to identify opportunities and develop data-driven solutions that create long-term business value.
- Apply business acumen, analytical thinking, and technology capabilities to identify opportunities that drive innovation and competitive advantage.
- Translate complex business challenges into scalable data, analytics, and technology solutions that enable better decision-making and outcomes.
- Collaborate across business and technical teams to design solutions that improve performance, unlock value, and advance strategic objectives.
- Work closely with solutions delivery leads, data engineers, developers, architects, analysts, product owners, and IT partners throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Serve as a trusted advisor, connecting people, processes, data, and technology to create lasting value.
Requirements
- Professional or educational experience working with data and analytics.
- Experience presenting data, analysis, or recommendations through coursework, internships, projects, or professional experience.
- Experience using Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data manipulation).
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience using GenAI to create work efficiencies.
- Exposure to data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
- Understanding of business concepts or business operations.
- Familiarity with SQL, Python, or other analytics tools.
- Demonstrated economic thinking or ability to connect analysis to business value.
- Experience with project management, Agile concepts, or cross-functional project work.
Skills
- Proficiency in Excel and data manipulation techniques.
- Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to translate complex business challenges into data-driven solutions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
