About the role

As a Business Continuity Specialist within PNC's Technology Security and Resilience organization, you will be based in Phoenix, AZ or Pittsburgh, PA.

Responsibilities

  • Quality monitoring and preparation of comprehensive assessments as it relates to day-to-day incidents or large scale planned or unplanned events.
  • Assess all hazards presenting risk and prepare to execute on response plans and coordinate resources to respond to events, emergencies, and disasters to mitigate potential risk or impacts to people, property and adverse customer experience.
  • Coordinate and execute the response needed for 24×7 support.
  • Advance the program and execute plans, as well as monitor and track of annual program activities compliant to internal and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the coordination of resources aligned to the designated response plans or a large business segment or group.
  • Ensure adherence and ensure activity aligns to the organization’s Business Resiliency and/or Business Continuity program; including but not limited to the standard lifecycle of an event.
  • Execute the lifecycle at all levels of an incident or event, including crisis management, emergency management, contingency planning and disaster preparedness planning and testing.
  • Participate as requested in lifecycle planning, including business impact analysis, risk assessment, recovery planning and recovery testing.
  • Proactively partner with key leaders and partners on business continuity issues.
  • Automate, consolidate or eliminate processes identified as being unsustainable and repeatable.
  • Complete training, testing, or exercise workshops for ongoing program advancement.
  • Maintain Key Risk or Key Performance indicators to satisfactory levels.
  • Develop assigned materials and standard operating procedures for leadership review and approval.
  • Serve as a frontline incident responder within the Enterprise Event Management team & PNC Watch Tower, executing real time assessment, triage, and escalation for all enterprise level incidents — including technology disruptions, life safety events, physical security threats, and operational hazards — to safeguard PNC’s people, assets, operations, and brand.
  • Maintain continuous situational awareness and threat monitoring across all hazards and intelligence sources (e.g., technology alerts, physical security events, weather, geopolitical disruptions), synthesizing information rapidly to initiate protective actions, coordinate cross functional response, and ensure timely leadership notification.

  • Competencies: Contingency and Disaster Recovery, Crisis Management, Decision Making and Critical Thinking, Effective Communications, Flexibility and Adaptability, Industry Knowledge, Planning: Tactical, Strategic, Requirements Analysis.
  • Work Experience: Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 2+ years of relevant professional experience. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
  • Education: Bachelors.
  • Certifications: No Required Certification(s).
  • Licenses: No Required License(s).
