About the role
EY has a robust life sciences commercial practice, assisting clients with strategic growth, business transformation, and commercial excellence. This senior role within our Consulting practice will lead large engagements, build solutions, lead teams, and innovate in the market. Our practice works with large pharma, biotechnology, medical device manufacturers, and medical technology industries. You will be an integral member of our life sciences consulting team, spending most of your time focused on providing client services in areas such as business transformation, commercial operations, commercial data and analytics, commercial strategy, market access, growth strategy, operating model optimization, technology implementation, and enterprise transformation.
Responsibilities
- A majority of your time will be spent supporting client engagement teams and working with a wide variety of clients to deliver professional services in the life sciences domain.
- Lead large-scale client engagements and consistently deliver quality client services.
- Manage and motivate client engagement teams with diverse skills and backgrounds.
- Monitor progress, manage risk, and ensure key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes.
- Manage expectations of client service delivery and stay current on current business and industry trends relevant to the client's business.
- Foster an innovative and inclusive team-oriented work environment by playing an active role in counseling and mentoring junior consultants within the organization.
- Develop and maintain long-term client relationships and networks.
- Develop relationships with team members across all EY practices to serve client needs.
- Stay current on new developments in the life sciences advisory services capabilities and industry knowledge.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business, Biology, Pharmacology
- 6+ years biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience and experience providing advisory services in these industries, focused in at least one of the following areas:
- Commercial analytics
- Brand strategy
- Pricing and market access
- Commercial operations model transformation
- Digital campaign management strategy
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical datasets (e.g. pricing databases, prescription and claims databases, etc.)
- Experience with commercial operations and analytics
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- The executive presence to interact with the C-Suite
- A willingness to travel to meet client needs
Qualifications
- Strong experience with operational model strategy and build out in the Life Sciences
- Prior experience leading teams and developing client relationships in the Life Sciences space with a specific focus on commercial and market access
- Experience with market access, commercial analytics, and overall commercial strategy is a must have
- Effectively manage and motivate client engagement teams with diverse skills and backgrounds

Schedule
Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
Pay
Base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $138,100 to $315,600. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $165,700 to $358,700. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
