About the role

The Business Banking Credit Portfolio Officer supports credit underwriting and monitoring for new and existing clients. Responsibilities include completing credit analysis, evaluating risks, and writing financial analysis using various tools and systems. The role involves analyzing financials, projections, industry data, covenant compliance, collateral, and policy requirements to ensure alignment with the bank’s risk appetite. This role reports to the Commercial Credit Manager that supports the market.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze client financial information, identify and mitigate potential risks, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and evaluate collateral to determine credit worthiness.
  • Complete monitoring activities via analysis of clients’ financial performance and collateral evaluation to ensure appropriate requirements are met.
  • Listen in to client meetings to develop a deeper understanding of the client's business, management team, and past and future performance.
  • Review completed client requests to ensure compliance with policy and procedures.
  • Understand how credit data is used internally and provided to regulatory partners.
  • Assist with periodic portfolio reviews.
  • Support the credit monitoring process for existing clients.
  • Prepare credit analysis to facilitate the decisioning of a client's credit worthiness.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of solid Commercial Banking experience.
  • Experience in financial analysis, structuring, underwriting, and portfolio management.
  • Analytical/technical skills, including financial accounting, modeling, and loan structuring.
  • Strong communication skills; ability to communicate vertically, horizontally, and externally.
  • Industry knowledge across multiple sectors.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED / Secondary School or equivalent.

Schedule

1st shift (United States of America), 40 hours per week.
