Business Banking Consultant Senior- Vice President
About the role
If you want to have a positive impact on underserved small businesses in your market and enjoy building relationships, this role focuses on leading business development efforts in the Underserved Community segment, specifically in “economic opportunity” areas. You'll help improve the lives of clients and the well-being of their businesses through financial solutions, education, and advice.
Responsibilities
- Build relationships and utilize networks and local centers of influence to identify and support underserved entrepreneurs.
- Cultivate long-term relationships with new and existing Community Development Financial Institutions, Non-Profits, and other community organizations, leveraging internal resources such as JPMorgan Chase Foundation.
- Maintain a current business network and active involvement in community organizations such as Chambers of Commerce and non-profit boards.
- Leverage knowledge of diverse types of businesses, industries, markets, financial, and economic concepts, and employ creative marketing techniques using Chase resources to develop business networks and prospects.
- Provide client advice and service, ensuring a seamless experience throughout Chase. Build collaborative relationships with partners across Chase, including Branches, Home Lending, Chase Wealth Management, and Merchant and Card Services.
- Deliver outstanding experiences to Chase business clients by providing comprehensive and customized business banking solutions tailored to their financial needs and circumstances.
- Use knowledge of business, finance, banking, credit, and risk management to identify, recommend, and promote solutions that best serve the client and ensure portfolio profitability.
- Discover the personal financial goals and needs of business clients. Partner across lines of business (Chase Wealth Management, Home Lending, Branch Teams) to connect clients with specialists.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in business banking relationship management or related business/commercial lending experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong relationship management skills; demonstrate tactical business development and negotiation skills.
- Seasoned judgment to offer comprehensive and customized solutions that meet client needs; monitor and research market/industry trends to anticipate client needs and present proactive solutions.
- Able to identify opportunities, issues, and viable alternatives while managing risk when traditional solutions do not apply.
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of business and credit underwriting with commercial credit training.
- Experience owning or operating a small business.
