Business Banking - Business Banking Officer I

About the role

As a Business Banking Officer, you will actively pursue business relationships for NBH Bank, providing a full range of business banking services with an emphasis on loan and deposit products. Your goal will be to earn 100% of the client’s relationship by developing and expanding business connections through calling on potential and existing clients to offer business loans, deposit, and treasury services. You will also identify Consumer and Mortgage opportunities for business clients and their associates.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial advice and counsel to business clients on credit structure and treasury management products.
• Guide clients through all aspects of the onboarding process, from initial meetings to loan closing.
• Critically review, analyze, and structure business loans.
• Monitor loan portfolio performance by maintaining contact with borrowers and resolving problems as needed.
• Proactively call on clients, prospects, and referral sources to acquire, expand, and retain business banking relationships, with a focus on deposit, treasury, and business lending growth.
• Promote the Bank’s image in the community through participation in activities, coordinating development efforts, and presenting a favorable image to generate new business opportunities.
• Build rapport with clients and associates while treating others with respect and consideration.
• Maintain current knowledge and compliance with regulations and bank policies, including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Minimum 3 years of banking experience.
• Minimum 3 years of successful business-to-business development experience.

Qualifications

Desired Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of successful commercial or small business lending experience.
• Minimum 5 years of banking experience.
• Completion of a bank training or formal credit training program.

• Strong credit background with the ability to analyze financial statements, underwrite loans, and prepare loan presentations for approval.

Work Environment

• Office setting with traditional hours.
• Ability to work at a rapid pace for extended periods (typically up to 8 hours).
• Physical requirements include pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, raising arms overhead, and grasping tools or items for extended periods or frequently throughout the day.
• Travel estimated at 50% to 60% of the time.
