Business Attorney
About the role
von Briesen & Roper, s.c., is seeking an Attorney to join our Business and Corporate team in our Chicago office. The Attorney will handle transactional matters including mergers, acquisitions, contracts, and other general business matters. This role offers the opportunity to lead sophisticated transactions, manage key client relationships, and mentor attorneys.
Responsibilities
Leading and managing mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other complex business transactions.
Advising clients on corporate governance, entity formation, business structuring, shareholder matters, and strategic business initiatives.
Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and overseeing transaction documents, including purchase agreements, operating agreements, financing documents, and ancillary transaction agreements and contracts.
Counseling clients on risk assessment, transaction strategy, and legal compliance issues.
Mentoring associates and junior attorneys, fostering professional development and high-quality client service.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates will have seven or more years of experience in corporate law and M&A matters.
This position requires a deep understanding of corporate governance, business entities, commercial contracts, and transaction structures, as well as strong drafting, negotiation, analytical and problem solving skills.
The ideal candidate will exhibit strong writing, oral communication and analytical skills, and a passion for client service.
They must be willing to collaborate with a team and work with internal and external clients, attorneys, and staff.
A partial portable book of business is required, with a demonstrated ability to generate and maintain client relationships.
Pay
The target hiring range for this position is $230,000 - $450,000 with additional year-end compensation at the company’s discretion.
