About the Role

Responsibilities

  • Produce verbatim transcripts of depositions, hearings, arbitrations, and trials using stenotype machines or voice writing technology.
  • Ensure transcripts are accurate, properly formatted, and delivered on time.
  • Review and edit transcripts for grammar, punctuation, and consistency.
  • Collaborate with legal teams to clarify speaker identification, technical terminology, or procedural details.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to legal and ethical standards.
  • Travel to various locations as needed for in-person proceedings.
  • Utilize real-time reporting technology for live proceedings when required.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, legal terminology, and technological advancements in court reporting.

Requirements

  • Certification as a Registered Professional Reporter (RPR) or equivalent state certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a court reporter in legal settings.
  • Proficiency in stenographic equipment and transcription software.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent command of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in high-pressure environments.
