Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in the area of education, counseling, or a related field.
  • Masters Degree preferred.
  • Five years experience in education, business, communications, or a related field/industry.

Prerequisite Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to build and maintain diverse partnerships.
  • Knowledge of and ability to learn and implement college and career software.
  • Strong knowledge of career pathways.
  • Ability to work with all types of students.
  • Ability to develop working, collaborative relationships with post-secondary representatives.
  • Experience and expertise in office technologies, such as Google and Microsoft applications.
  • Broad computer/data entry skills evidencing ability to learn new technology quickly, as well as superior quality, quantity, and accuracy in work product.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage several projects at one time.
  • Skilled at creating and maintaining databases.
  • Ability to plan and implement workshops and engagement events for students, families and community.
  • Ability to communicate appropriately using a variety of platforms.
  • Knowledge of local industries and the regional business landscape.
  • Familiarity with career and technical education programs.

Essential Functions

  • Identify and cultivate relationships with local businesses, industries, and community organizations that support career pathways.
  • Work closely with administration to ensure partnership opportunities align with curriculum goals and student needs.
  • Provide one-on-one counseling to students who intend to pursue a career after graduation, assisting them in exploring and understanding various post-secondary education and career options.
  • Serve as a point of contact for Reading High School (RHS) graduates who require support navigating career options.
  • Cookordinate and oversee career exploration events, job shadowing, and field trips to provide students with practical industry insights.
  • Coordinate internship programs, including placement, ongoing monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Collaborate with teachers to incorporate real-world applications and industry insights into the curriculum.
  • Track and report partnership activities, student participation, and program outcomes.
  • Maintain an up-to-date database of community contacts and engagement activities to facilitate continued collaboration.
  • Develop promotional materials that highlight academy programs and student achievements for community outreach.
  • Prepare reports as requested by administration.
  • Assist with the organization and implementation of informational sessions, workshops, and presentations on post-secondary admissions, financial aid, and scholarship opportunities.
  • Assist with the facilitation of career and reality fairs.

Terms Of Employment

  • Full-time (12-month) position.
  • Salary and benefits consistent with the District's approved Compensation and Benefits Plan.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of personnel.
