Responsibilities
- Help develop hypotheses and data analysis plans to determine the best approach for conducting descriptive analytics, create savings models, evaluate program outcomes, and size potential opportunities.
- Translate business ideas into testable hypotheses with guidance.
- Contribute to statistical analyses and data visualizations based on the broader analysis plan.
- Explore and interpret data patterns to evaluate program and business hypotheses.
- Query and manipulate both structured and unstructured data to support analysis.
- Help distill analytical findings into actionable insights for business decision-making.
- Use approved generative AI tools, when appropriate and in accordance with policy, to support coding, documentation, and summarization, while ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Analyze data to inform key strategic business decisions.
- Perform descriptive analyses, develop savings models, and evaluate program outcomes and size potential opportunities under general supervision.
- Support the translation of business ideas to working hypotheses.
- With supervision, produce statistical analyses and visualizations from the broader analysis plan.
- Identify and analyze data patterns to test business and program hypotheses.
- Perform data querying and manipulation of structured and unstructured data sets.
- Support the synthesis of analysis results into insights for business decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Economics, Actuarial Science, Informatics, Epidemiology, Biostatics, Data Science, or other related field is required.
- A minimum of one (1) year of related work experience.
- Previous experience programming (at least one language) is required.
- Basic knowledge of how health care claims are billed and how the health system works.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Basic knowledge about different evaluation study designs (i.e., case-control, cohort), methodologies for controlling for population differences in studies (i.e., regression analysis, propensity score matching), and programming (SQL, SAS, R or Python).
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Access, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or PhD in related field is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of statistical testing techniques (i.e. ANOVA t-tests, chi-squared, etc.).
