Business Analyst, Senior
Department Overview: Electric Operations ensures the delivery of clean, safe, reliable and affordable energy to nearly 16 million people in Northern and Central California. The team is responsible for the electric grid's reliability and resiliency through maintenance and operations of PG&E's 100,000 miles of distribution lines and over 18,000 miles of transmission lines. Coworkers engage in Lean Methodology, using visual management in operating reviews to identify and solve problems cross-functionally.
About the Role
The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for research, data analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to support business decision-making, strategy, and operations. Acts as a business liaison between VM Transmission Planning, VM Transmission Execution, and VM Leadership. May also be involved in business process improvement, quality control, special projects, and other initiatives. This hybrid position works from your remote office and your assigned location (headquarters in Antioch) based on business needs.
Responsibilities
- Compiles and analyzes data; may develop and maintain data models for what-if analysis and other business purposes.
- Develops and tracks business metrics; creates standard, custom, and ad-hoc reports from Vegetation Management systems (VMD, PMD, ITS, remote sensing data, etc.).
- Develops or works with budgets and forecasts for leadership review and feedback.
- Collects and links data from various sources, including databases and external partner datasets; validates data integrity and creates custom reports.
- Researches best practices and develops internal/external benchmarks supporting business decisions.
- Performs quality assurance and business process improvement activities, including performance assessment, re-engineering, change management, communication, and training.
- Leads projects: determines scope, budget, timeframes, forms teams, assigns tasks, and manages resources and issues.
- Performs analysis on complex data models requiring customized reports and data.
- Develops or revises data analysis to predict business outcomes by selecting from various complex variables.
- Develops and uses metrics to recommend business strategy and operational improvements; presents findings to leaders.
- Manages small to mid-size projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Four (4) years of related work experience.

Pay
Pay Range: $102,000 (minimum) – $152,000 (maximum), with a midpoint of $127,000. Actual salary will be based on factors such as internal equity, skills, education, experience, market value, and geographic location. This position is also eligible for PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
