About the role

The P SG ADMIN-DEMAND RESPONSE Department of the P CUSTOMER ENERGY RESOURCES OPERATIONS Division at Hawaiian Electric Company has one Professional-level vacancy. This role provides operational support by leading process improvements through business analyses, maintaining documented CER business policies, and conducting process audits.

Responsibilities

  • Leads CER process developments and improvements by researching, analyzing, and reviewing business procedures to reduce inefficiencies and risks.
  • Gathers requirements to prepare formalized work plans to deliver solutions that support business needs and goals.
  • Proactively monitors adopted solutions and provides training as needed after implementation to ensure successful change management.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact in maintaining CER business policies, processes, procedures, and knowledge-based documents.
  • Performs process and data audits to ensure compliance with tariff rule requirements using various databases.
  • Provides data-driven actionable insights and recommendations from the audit process.
  • Supports development, testing, and implementation of new programs, services, and tools for CER.
  • Engages in the preparation and coordination of scheduled data reports, including ad-hoc requests.
  • Participates in Company emergency response activities as assigned, including preparation for such responses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, statistics, computer science, or related field of study, or equivalent experience.
  • Working knowledge of continuous improvement principles and best practices to achieve operational excellence. Certification as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of business and data analysis, process management, project management, and change management.
  • Working knowledge of databases, simulation models, and tracking systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of MS Access, Excel, BI, AI, and collaboration tools.
  • Thorough knowledge of personal computers, related software applications (e.g., spreadsheets, word processing, database management), analytical platforms, and artificial intelligence (e.g., Copilot).
  • Working knowledge of CER operations is highly desirable.

  • Ability to conceptualize new ideas quickly and adapt to rapidly changing priorities to accomplish several tasks simultaneously among numerous deadlines.
  • Superior attention to detail in analytical assessments; thrives on developing and maintaining high-quality work plans and assessments while considering the effects of decisions upstream or downstream.
  • Excellent analytical, conceptual, organizational, and problem-solving skills to handle various projects and initiatives.
  • Effective written, oral, and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to influence and persuade various groups or individuals, with the ability to handle difficult and/or sensitive issues with tact, courtesy, and discretion while remaining flexible and composed.
  • Ability to think creatively while maintaining high standards of business ethics and conduct, and manage perceptions of all audiences by practicing sound judgment.

Experience

  • Several years (3-5) of experience in business, economics, statistics, or information systems is required.
  • Project management experience or participation in company task forces or project teams.
  • Experience with customer-sited energy management technologies in a design, implementation, or planning function is highly desirable.

Pay

The hiring range for this position is $72,500.00 to $90,600.00. The selected candidate will be placed according to their skills and qualifications.
