The Opportunity As a Business Analyst within the Nominations and Scheduling West team, you will support daily natural gas transportation and storage operations by combining strong analytical skills, system expertise, and customer engagement. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate scheduling, compliance with tariff requirements, and reliable service delivery for some of TC Energy’s largest and most complex customers. Reporting to the Manager of Customer Service West, you will work closely with customers, pipeline operators, and internal stakeholders to analyze operational activity, resolve issues, and support continuous improvement of scheduling processes and transactional systems. What You’ll Do Operational Analysis & Scheduling Support Support daily nominations, scheduling, confirmations, and imbalance management activities across multiple interstate pipelines and storage assetsAnalyze operational data related to OBAs, park & loan, storage, and power plant activity to ensure compliance with tariff and service standardsMonitor customer utilization and operational trends, identifying risks, constraints, and optimization opportunities Customer & Stakeholder Engagement Serve as a key point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders on operational and transactional mattersRespond to customer and operator inquiries related to nominations, confirmations, allocations, and scheduling processesProvide customer training and support on transactional system functionality and process requirements Systems, Process & Reporting Develop and maintain operational and customer utilization reporting from both macro and detailed perspectivesDevelop business requirements and test plans to support enhancements to transactional systems and operational processesParticipate in system testing, implementation, and post-deployment support Collaboration & Coverage Work collaboratively across commercial, operations, measurement, and accounting teams to resolve complex issuesSupport time-sensitive pipeline operations by providing flexible coverage, including occasional evenings, weekends, or o-site support as operational needs requireProvide additional coverage during peak periods, critical operational events, or significant system activities, sometimes with little noticeParticipate in occasional domestic and international travel as requiredPerform additional duties and projects as assigned Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree3–5 years of related experience in energy operations, scheduling, or business analysisStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detailStrong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to explain complex operational concepts clearlyAbility to manage tasks on fixed and tight deadlines for multiple, often simultaneous, projectsProficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)Familiarity with interstate natural gas pipeline tariffs, contracts, and operationsWorking knowledge of NAESB standards as they apply to nominations, scheduling, confirmations, and allocations Preferred Qualifications Experience scheduling natural gas for interstate pipelines and/or storage facilitiesExperience working with pipeline transactional and scheduling systemsWorking knowledge of TC Energy’s U.S. natural gas pipeline and storage assetsExperience developing analytics, dashboards, or operational reporting (Power BI preferred)Experience with process modeling tools (Visio) and advanced Excel functionality (macros) Experience writing and maintaining Access, SQL, or Excel-based queries Work Environment Office environment is an open-floor conceptMust be able to work from home in a distraction-free environmentMust have reliable internet service To remain competitive, support our high-performance culture and allow for more flexibility in the way we work, we o er a hybrid work model and flexible dress code for our eligible o workforce in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico.
