Our Utility Client in Brooklyn, NY is looking for a Junior Business Analyst with GIS experience. This is a hybrid onsite role requiring a local candidate who can come to the office and attend an in-person interview. The contract duration is 12+ months.
Responsibilities
- Assist with gathering, documenting, and analyzing business and technical requirements.
- Support project managers and business teams in coordinating project activities, timelines, and deliverables.
- Create and maintain user stories, process documentation, workflow diagrams, and business process maps.
- Help facilitate meetings, status updates, and communication between technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Support digital transformation initiatives involving enterprise repositories, workflows, mapping systems, and operational tools.
- Assist with backlog management and project tracking using Azure DevOps or similar platforms.
- Coordinate testing activities, issue tracking, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) support.
- Assist with reporting, data validation, and operational process improvements.
- Develop professional presentations, reports, SOPs, and training documentation for business and leadership audiences.
- Create workflow diagrams and technical documentation using Visio or similar tools.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with technical teams, management, and business users.
- Support data migration, validation, and automation initiatives using tools such as Python, SQL, or Oracle databases.
- Assist with organizing and maintaining enterprise records and repositories.
- Participate in technology implementation efforts and process improvement initiatives.
- Document business requirements and translate them into clear technical requirements.
- Administer and test Enterprise GIS and Database Projects with consistent UI design.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree completed or in progress in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong internship or co-op experience within a utility company environment.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and self-management abilities.
- Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and determination.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Visio).
- Experience with Azure DevOps (preferred).
- Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
