About the Role

We are seeking a self-directing Business Analyst III who can identify priorities, overcome obstacles, and mobilize resources to achieve results through collaboration. You should understand technical issues at a high level and be proactive, creative, and efficient in proposing solutions to complex, time-critical problems. Your role will involve supporting solution delivery, planning, application reviews, documentation, information updates, policy/directive reviews, release management, and providing guidance on enterprise infrastructure, applications, security, process improvements, and solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Keep abreast of current developments in Health Care IT, software development, release processes, and industry best practices.
  • Identify, research, and resolve business, usability, process, technical, and service improvement problems.
  • Gather requirements, create documentation, collaborate with developers to estimate and build solutions, and evaluate results.
  • Extract data from disparate systems into meaningful business intelligence to improve processes, procedures, and products.
  • Partner with clients, service areas, and vendors to ensure optimal delivery of solutions.
  • Ensure solution architecture (software, integrations, and programs) aligns with business goals and milestones are met.
  • Participate in initiative documentation, including design reviews, estimating exercises, operational readiness reviews, timeline management, and risk assessment.
  • Prepare briefing materials for executive leadership, clients, and stakeholders, often with limited time and partial information.
  • Draft and tailor content for multiple audiences to communicate status, key information, milestones, technical challenges, and opportunities.
  • Work under deadlines in close contact with project teams, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate across teams to collect information, coordinate inputs for meetings, and resolve blockers.
  • Support ad hoc areas as directed and mitigate business risks associated with solution architecture and processes.
  • Provide recommendations on prioritizing development team work based on customer needs.
  • Participate in Agile, Kanban, Waterfall, and hybrid methodologies.
  • Consult on test planning and execution, including documenting test plans, executing tests, tracking execution, and defect resolution.
  • Support Release Management processes and drive improvements.
  • Address operational support needs, including end-user documentation, communications, and troubleshooting.
  • Build models and assess stakeholder needs and goals.
  • Recommend process improvements based on analysis and ensure successful execution.
  • Participate in knowledge transfer and mentorship of coworkers.
  • Perform other related duties as necessary.

Requirements

  • Over 2+ years of relevant experience conducting analysis of IT business and information environments, activities, processes, and events.
  • 2+ years of experience working on web-based applications and portals.
  • Understanding of IT system/software lifecycle.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with a focus on translating technical concepts for business, functional, application development, engineering, and security teams.
  • Experience with data management (collection, storage, and use).
  • Ability to independently assemble Excel tables, PowerPoint slides, and Word documentation under tight deadlines for client consumption.
  • Experience with machine learning and AI.
  • Ability to articulate complex concepts succinctly and clearly.
  • Well-versed in lifecycle and project management methodologies.
  • Experience with data modeling and data mining tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Healthcare IT, VA and/or DoD Systems and Software.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST, HITRUST, SOC1/2.
  • Experience with medical/dental/pharmacy claims processing.
  • Experience mining and modeling data, identifying trends, errors, opportunities, and reporting.
  • Experience with DevOps and DevSecOps.
