About the role
The Business Analyst II - P&C Insurance plays a vital role in managing and overseeing technical projects within Duck Creek Technologies. This position requires an experienced professional who can coordinate cross-functional teams, manage project deliverables, and contribute to complex technical initiatives. The Business Analyst II acts as the primary project lead for customer-focused initiatives, ensuring that deliverables meet client requirements and are executed successfully. The role involves analyzing, designing, and configuring business processes, as well as collaborating with stakeholders to assess current capabilities and gather detailed product requirements. The analyst is responsible for eliciting and documenting use cases, translating these into clear technical specifications, and facilitating seamless communication between business and technical teams. Additionally, the role involves managing integration projects between Duck Creek’s solutions and core systems, ensuring smooth data flow and system interoperability. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with RESTful APIs, Microsoft Logic Apps, and SQL queries, performing tasks such as requirement gathering, gap analysis, test planning, and execution. This is a dynamic role suited for someone with a strong technical background and excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex requirements into actionable technical solutions.
Responsibilities
- Act as the project lead for technically focused customer initiatives, ensuring project success and alignment with client needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess current capabilities and gather detailed business requirements
- Elicit, document, and maintain comprehensive product requirements and use cases for implementation
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and facilitate clear communication with technical teams
- Manage integration projects between Duck Creek’s platform and core insurance systems to ensure seamless data exchange
- Utilize RESTful APIs, Microsoft Logic Apps, and SQL queries to support project activities and technical configurations
- Perform requirements analysis, gap identification, and estimate project timelines and resources
- Develop and execute test plans, including User Acceptance Testing, to validate solutions against requirements
- Provide technical consultation and support during project execution, troubleshooting issues as they arise
- Ensure project documentation is complete, accurate, and accessible to relevant stakeholders
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize project delivery processes
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field, preferably with an analytic emphasis
- 2 to 5 years of professional experience in a similar role
- Experience interfacing with customers, including delivering presentations
- Proficiency in requirements gathering, gap analysis, estimation, implementation, testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Knowledge of Loss Control Insurance software applications
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle for insurance software
- Experience working with RESTful APIs, Microsoft Logic Apps, and SQL queries
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Willingness to travel approximately 25%
- Legally authorized to work in the country of the job location
