Business Analyst I

About the role

The Business Analyst I facilitates the business application development process between Information Technology and internal business partners, gathering requirements to meet corporate goals. This role focuses on small to medium projects and supports other Business Analysts on larger initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate Business and Development teams in Story Mapping Sessions
• Create Personas to bring focus and direction to the creation of story cards and other project artifacts
• Balance business and technical analysis to ensure successful project and sprint planning
• Interact with both business and technical organizations
• Work with the QA team to provide acceptance criteria for business objectives
• Assist in validating technical deliverables for completeness, accuracy, and quality
• Create screen mockups or wireframes to demonstrate designs
• Act as a liaison between assigned business units and IT resources
• Provide analytical support, facilitate research, and address questions or issues for business units
• Proactively support all project team roles to ensure overall quality and success of initiatives
• Develop expertise in AAA Life’s products, systems, programs, and business processes
• Handle additional project assignments such as testing or assisting the Project Manager as required

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Previous experience as a Business Analyst or similar role gathering requirements
• Proven experience using Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
• Experience within an organization practicing Agile software development

Qualifications

Insurance industry expertise preferred.
