Position Overview

Our Government client located in New York, NY is seeking a Business Analyst – HR Operations & Data Analytics to support high-priority initiatives within a large enterprise HR Operations and Analytics organization. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who enjoys combining business analysis, project coordination, process improvement, and data analysis to drive operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Cook up cross-functional projects, ensuring milestones, deliverables, and timelines remain on track.
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings to gather business requirements and identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Create and maintain project documentation, including meeting minutes, action items, project trackers, status reports, and executive summaries.
  • Analyze business and operational data using Excel and Power BI to generate actionable insights and support decision-making.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and presentations for leadership using Microsoft Power BI and PowerPoint.
  • Manage document version control, permissions, and collaboration across Microsoft 365 platforms.
  • Support process improvement initiatives by identifying operational inefficiencies and recommending practical solutions.
  • Collaborate with HR, operations, and analytics teams to improve workflows and information management.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in business analysis, project coordination, process improvement, or data analysis.
  • Experience working within large, complex, or matrixed organizations.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft 365, including: SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup functions, and data cleansing.
  • Experience creating dashboards and visualizations in Power BI.
  • Strong business process mapping experience using Microsoft Visio.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting HR, Operations, Shared Services, or Business Transformation teams.
  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft, Workday, or other ERP/HRIS platforms.
  • Experience using project or task management tools.
  • Experience creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process documentation.
  • Experience supporting enterprise process improvement initiatives.
  • Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills.
