Business Analyst - Healthcare

About the role

Location: Austin, TX (ONSITE - Locals Only). Duration: 12+ Months. Interview process: one round face‑to‑face required. Experience: minimum 10+ years total, with at least 8 years in the healthcare domain.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with outside vendors to complete projects and service requests; define, assign, and evaluate their work.
• Develop and/or review project artifacts such as test cases, requirements documentation and traceability, design and technical specifications.
• Consult on the analysis of a system, troubleshoot problems, and support solution implementations.
• Manage a project’s scope, acceptance, and deployment; monitor system integration and user acceptance testing.
• Identify a project’s potential risks and difficulties and design strategies to mitigate or avoid them.
• Perform the analysis of HHS policies, procedures, and standards to determine their effect on automated systems and system functional areas.

Requirements

Candidates must meet or exceed the minimum stated requirements; those who do not may be displayed to customers but are unlikely to be selected.

Minimum experience: 10+ years total, with at least 8 years in the healthcare domain.

Skills

• Experience using TFS/ADO to create, manage, and maintain requirements throughout the development lifecycle (preferred).
• Working in an Agile environment, preferably SAFe (preferred).
• Experience with Microsoft products such as MS Office, SharePoint, and Copilot (preferred).
• Understanding of enterprise system components (user interfaces, data layers, infrastructure, integrations), business rules engines, workflow orchestration, and familiarity with cloud‑based solutions (preferred).
• Experience and knowledge of Texas HHSC processes, Texas Medicaid and CHIP systems (preferred).
• Experience updating portfolio project management tools and managing state‑level major information resource project information (preferred).
