Business Analyst / Functional Tester with Security Clearance

About the role

Kentro is hiring a Business Analyst / Functional Tester with an active security clearance to support the development and validation of mission-critical systems for U.S. government customers.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements from government stakeholders.
• Translate mission and operational needs into clear user stories, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria.
• Develop and execute functional test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate system capabilities.
• Perform manual functional testing, regression testing, and system validation to ensure applications meet requirements.
• Identify, document, and track software defects and issues using issue tracking tools.
• Collaborate closely with developers, QA teams, product owners, and mission stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.
• Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and assist stakeholders in validating system functionality.
• Document business processes, workflows, and system behavior.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst
• Proficiency in requirements gathering and documentation in support of government or IC programs
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Demonstrated ability serving as a liaison between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience translating business needs into user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria
• Experience supporting the design of mockups, wireframes, and process flow diagrams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on government contracts
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies
• Agile certified

Clearance Requirement

Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility
