About the role

ERS is hiring an entry-level Business Analyst with 0-3 years of experience. A successful candidate will have the opportunity to grow into more senior analytical, managerial and operational roles over time. Your unique growth path will depend upon your own unique education, experience, passions and success in this position. This is a dual reporting role. The Analyst will primarily report to the Chief Operating Officer. Frequently, instances will arise where the Analyst will be required to concurrently report to one or more Directors as well as the COO depending upon the needs of the organization. You'll demonstrate exceptional knowledge and abilities using data management and manipulation software such as Excel, SQL databases, SharePoint lists, etc. If you can take voluminous, complex, messy data inputs, learn or understand the right questions to ask, then independently clean up the inputs and translate them into professional, accurate, easy-to-understand and easily updateable reports, dashboards and data tools, we need you on our team yesterday. Job duties

Job duties may include, but are not limited to, support of any combination of the following:

  • General business: Insurance, licensing, business registrations, coordination and scheduling, policy and procedure development or refinement, reporting.
  • Project support: General Project Management support including project financial controls such as budgeting and project finance administration, preparation and coordination of recurring budget and financial performance reviews, assistance with project staffing, policy and procedure development and refinement, document management, project information system management, project software tool development, project deliverable and deadline reporting and management.
  • Business Development: proposals, opportunity review coordination, scheduling and assignments, management or oversight, document preparation, conference attendance or assistance, marketing and graphic coordination including preparing slide decks for presentations, etc.
  • Accounting: invoices, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank deposits, bookkeeping, financial reporting.
  • Legal: contract and subcontract administration, task order administration, insurance certificates and other contractual compliance.
  • Information Technology: Equipment administration, software and user administration, system automation implementations, report and dashboard creation and maintenance, and occasionally assistance with system access migrations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work location

This position will start off as a hybrid role, requiring a mix of office work in Baton Rouge, LA, remote work from home, and the potential for occasional project travel assignments. Preference will be given to candidates located within a reasonable driving distance to Baton Rouge, LA. The nature of the work location is subject to change in the future, as business needs evolve.   • Knowledge, skills and abilities related to core business service areas including federal grant program administration, disaster recovery, construction and program management and technology.

Required education and experience

  • An associate degree in business, data analysis, engineering, finance, marketing, accounting, information technology, construction, law, public administration, or similar business-oriented fields. The degree must have been obtained from an institute accredited by the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the U.S. Department of Education.
  • In lieu of an associate degree, two or more years of full-time experience in one or more of the following areas: accounting, project management, paralegal, contract administration, business development, business management, finance, human resources, proposals, programming, information technology, disaster recovery, or federal grant program administration.
  • Or a suitable combination of combined education and experience.

Desired education and experience

  • A bachelor's degree in business, engineering, data analysis, finance, marketing, accounting, information technology, construction, law, public administration, or similar business-oriented fields. The degree must have been obtained from an institute accredited by the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the U.S. Department of Education.
  • In lieu of a bachelor's degree, four or more years of full-time experience in one or more of the following areas: accounting, project management, paralegal, contract administration, construction management, business development, business management, finance, human resources, proposals, information technology, disaster recovery, or federal grant program administration.
  • Familiarity with federal grant programs, more specifically federal disaster recovery grant programs.

Pay and schedule

This is a full time position. The annual salary is based on a 40 hour per week schedule, paid bi-weekly.
