Business Analyst – Entry Level
About the Role

As an Entry Level Business Analyst at CGI, you’ll work with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements. You’ll gain hands-on experience with modern analysis methods, data tools, and technology-enabled workflows, building a strong foundation in consulting skills such as requirements development, solution design, and responsible AI practices.
Responsibilities
- Develop a strong understanding of your client’s industry, organization, customers, and business objectives.
- Build trusted relationships with clients and teammates by asking thoughtful questions, actively listening, and clarifying business needs.
- Analyze business processes, user requirements, and data to identify insights, pain points, and improvement opportunities.
- Use foundational data skills (SQL basics, data exploration, statistical literacy, and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Excel) to support analysis.
- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly, translating technical concepts into language that cross-functional audiences can understand.
- Convert business needs into functional requirements, user stories, workflows, acceptance criteria, and test support materials.
- Leverage modern and AI-enabled workplace tools to organize information, summarize findings, draft documentation, identify patterns, and streamline analysis.
- Apply responsible AI practices by considering privacy, security, data quality, transparency, and appropriate human oversight when using AI-enabled tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions meet business needs and deliver strong user experiences.
- Support testing, usability reviews, documentation, training materials, and client deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Authorization to work in the United States on a permanent basis without current or future employer sponsorship.
- Certain positions may require U.S. Citizenship and/or the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance based on client or government requirements.
- Curiosity, professionalism, and a strong desire for continuous learning.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with comfort navigating ambiguity and complex information.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify and explain complex ideas.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Exposure to business analysis, AI tools, data analysis, cloud technologies, cybersecurity concepts, or software development through coursework, internships, research, or personal projects is preferred but not required.
- Interest in learning and responsibly using AI-enabled tools, automation platforms, and modern productivity technologies to enhance business analysis.

Pay
A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this role is $46,400 - $85,100.
