Business Analyst, Data Platform
Job Overview
The Business Analyst, AI & Data Platform is a uniquely broad role designed for a small, fast-moving team modernizing CenterSquare’s data foundation from the ground up. The role combines two functions that typically sit in separate positions: the deep, methodical work of process documentation, data requirements gathering, and use case development; and the cross-functional coordination work of tracking initiative dependencies, managing stakeholder communication, and keeping concurrent workstreams moving without director-level intervention.
This position is based in CenterSquare’s Conshohocken, PA office.
Key Responsibilities
Process Documentation & Workflow Analysis
- Conduct structured interviews with investment, operations, and marketing team members to capture current-state workflows, data inputs, and process logic to produce process maps and workflow documentation
- Maintain a living inventory of firm wide data processes, outputs–with ownership, refresh frequency, and quality notes documented for each.
Data Requirements & Use Case Development
- Translate workflows and reporting needs into structured data requirements and Snowflake ingestion specifications
- Develop and maintain a prioritized use case backlog
Program Coordination & Delivery
- Track surface cross-initiative dependencies; own and coordinate workstreams
- Translate technical program progress into concise, accurate status updates for leadership
- Maintain program-level artifacts including decision logs, milestone trackers, and meeting outputs
Stakeholder Engagement & Data Governance
- Support build trusted working relationships with senior subject matter experts across investment, operations, and marketing to surface tacit process knowledge and earn cooperation with documentation and migration efforts
- Support the development of the firm’s data ownership model by facilitating data owner assignments, documenting naming conventions, and maintaining the data dictionary in collaboration with the Data Analytics Engineer
- Contribute to governance documentation including data lineage records, access control definitions, and quality standards that support AI-readiness and regulatory defensibility
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; concentration in information systems, business, finance, or a related field preferred.
- 3–6 years of experience spanning business analysis, process documentation, and cross-functional program or project coordination; financial services or asset management experience strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake or a comparable cloud data platform required; comfort reading and writing SQL in a Snowflake environment.
- Demonstrated ability to operate across two distinct work modes: deep, focused documentation work requiring sustained attention, and broad, reactive coordination work requiring rapid context-switching.
- Exposure to asset management operations, investment workflows, or financial data environments; able to build credibility quickly with tenured investment professionals.
- Exceptional written communication skills with experience producing structured documentation for technical and non-technical audiences and translating technical progress into executive-ready narratives.
- Prowess in managing multiple concurrent workstreams and holding delivery accountable across organizational boundaries without formal authority.
- Self-directed and intellectually curious; comfortable operating in a startup environment
