About the role
This is a hybrid position with 3 days in-office. Remote work eligibility is based on proximity to the office location (11001 Lakeline Blvd., STE 120, Austin, TX 78717).
Responsibilities
- Gathering, Refining Requirements for Key Documentation
- Assist in the development of clear and concise user stories, process flows, acceptance criteria, and detailed specifications
- Conduct research into specific features to provide greater context on the task, platform or to improve workflows
- Continue to update requirements and document these within product management tools like Jira and Confluence
- Analyze market intelligence, process efficiency, and work with internal stakeholders to optimize delivery
- Organize and facilitate meetings with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, dependent teams, and value streams
- Take detailed meeting minutes and track action items to ensure follow-up on key decisions and open items
- Foster collaboration between different teams to resolve issues and ensure alignment across initiatives
- Communicate needed changes and updates to development team and maintain comprehensive documentation, ensuring all relevant change details are recorded
- Work closely with QA teams to validate solutions and assist in defining testing scenarios, finalizing testing processes, ensuring that all acceptance criteria are met
- Support product owners and development teams in identifying and resolving issues during the validation phase
- Maintain KPIs and work with stakeholders to assess the effectiveness of implemented changes and recommend improvements
- Manage multiple initiatives and value streams concurrently, providing regular updates on progress, risks, and issues to product owners
- Occasionally assist in some dev-related tasks to get projects over the line
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Business, Finance, Insurance, or related focus a plus
- Experience in life insurance, health insurance, or annuities is required
- 3+ years as a proven Business Analyst in an Agile environment, preferably within the life insurance or financial services industry
- Experience working closely with QA during testing is a plus
- Strong understanding of the insurance industry including but not limited to: policy administration concepts, the full insurance value chain from application through claims, and claims processing and payment procedures
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) and working in cross-functional Agile teams
- Familiarity with product management tools (Jira, Confluence, etc.) for backlog management and requirement documentation
- Agile Scrum or PM certification(s) a plus
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to navigate complex business challenges
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to facilitate meetings and manage stakeholder relationships
- Able to multi-task and manage competing priorities across multiple value streams and initiatives
- Working knowledge of AI applications and ability to leverage it to streamline day to day tasks
