Business Analyst

About the Role

The Applications Business Analyst collaborates with stakeholders to gather, define, and document detailed functional and technical requirements for application development or deployment. They work closely with both business stakeholders and IT teams to enhance business operations efficiency and ensure successful implementation of new or enhanced solutions.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate current-state business processes, anticipate requirements, and uncover areas for improvement based on industry standards and user needs.
• Schedule, plan, and lead requirement gathering and review meetings; convert business requirements to developer-friendly specifications and ensure solutions meet business needs.
• Drive identification of detailed requirements analysis across business units; identify and document systems processes through evaluation of real-time data.
• Develop forward-thinking systems prototypes that promote increased efficiency and productivity on multiple levels; ensure maximum functionality of systems in production through the development of user requirements.
• Perform, evaluate, and communicate thorough quality assurance at every stage of systems development, and perform user acceptance testing.
• Partner with stakeholder teams across business units (e.g., sales, finance, operations, engineering, security, compliance) to collaboratively develop necessary analysis and documentation.
• Author and update internal and external documentation, and formally initiate and deliver requirements and documents.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, or a related field (must be from a school accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or an equivalent international program).
• 5+ years of experience in application development, data visualization, and innovative system solutions.
• Strong technical, analytical, and user-centered design skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and present findings clearly across business groups.
• Experience in process documentation, project management, user testing, and stakeholder collaboration, with the ability to prioritize and adapt as needed.
• Proficient in Microsoft Visio, Teams, PPM360, and PowerBI; demonstrates exceptional critical thinking and reliable follow-through.
• Valid US driver’s license.
• Must be a US citizen to meet government-facility requirements for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies.
• Successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with the U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
• Ability to access ITAR-controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
