Business Analyst
About the Role
The Business Analyst will be responsible for managing financial and operational aspects of assigned Medical Marketing and Medical Affairs clients and their products. This role requires a high level of understanding of the assigned clients and products, various medical communications project types, and the ability to work independently. The Business Analyst will work closely with the Director, Business Analysis and financial analysts to ensure accurate internal and external financial reporting, develop budget proposals and provide financial related support in client meetings.
Accountability
The Business Analyst is accountable to the Director, Business Analysis who provides guidance and support on more complex tasks and responsible for the accurate management of finances, adherence to SOPs, development of budgets and proposals, reviewing reports and participating in client meetings.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations for speaker bureau, including budget tracking, internal revenue accruals, forecasting and variance analysis
- Develop Statement of Work (SOW), ensuring final sign-off by Director as required
- Create and manage budgets and proposals, providing oversight for complex SOWs
- Prepare speaker bureau specific budgets, accrual reports and monthly financial management updates
- Work closely with Program Directors on monthly accrual reports, reviewing and discussing as needed
- Ensure accuracy in financial reconciliation data before releasing reports to clients
- Generate and distribute monthly accruals and budget reports for clients
- Provide invoicing amounts to Accounts Receivable to facilitate timely invoice submissions
- Initiate project records and issue job numbers for new projects
- Ensures compliance with internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and client specific SOPs
- Provides budget related support in client meetings as needed
- Participates in accrual meetings with clients based on their SOPs
- Contributes to process improvement initiatives to enhance financial operations
Qualifications
- 2+ years' experience in budgeting
- Prior speaker bureau experience a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft® Excel functions for financial modeling and analysis
- Strong financial analysis skills, including budget tracking, forecasting and variance analysis
- Strives to find process efficiencies by thinking outside the box and making recommendations for change
- Strong ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of ERP systems, NetSuite a plus
- Excellent client facing skills, including comfortability with all types of client communications

Pay
Salary range: $70,000 – $85,000 annually. Actual salary will depend on background and experience.
