About the role
The modernization initiative addresses long-standing challenges—fragmented workflows, manual processes, limited scalability, and legacy-system instability—by introducing a modern stack: Angular, REST APIs, Azure SQL Managed Instances, Azure Function Apps, Power BI, and a pending document-management/process-automation platform. As of May 2024, legacy systems have migrated to Azure; the MyTRS member portal is slated for modernization by July 2025. All IS resources currently support legacy systems while building modernized replacements. A project charter and SDLC are established; the environment and foundation for modern applications are nearing completion.

- All major systems operating on Azure with improved performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Retirement of ALICE and elimination of legacy technical debt.
- Reduced manual work, fewer errors, and significantly improved turnaround times.
- A modern document storage and capture solution with streamlined workflows and reduced fragmentation.
- Enhanced security posture.
- Improved user satisfaction and accessibility.
- Greater operational resilience and adaptability.
- Reduced maintenance burden, lower infrastructure costs, and fewer workarounds through modern platform infrastructure.
