About the role
System One has an exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst to work on a multi-year contract assisting a client through a modernization project. This role bridges the gap between stakeholders and technologists in gathering requirements, planning, and testing to ensure successful adoption and transition to cloud technology. The successful candidate must be willing to travel across the state as needed. This position offers W-2 employment through System One with access to full benefits throughout the duration of the project.
Responsibilities
- Engage with business units to understand operational workflows, pain points, and improvement opportunities.
- Interface with technical resources, such as Development or IT staff, to understand and translate technical requirements.
- Document current processes using clear, structured methods such as process maps, diagrams, and workflow charts.
- Facilitate discussions to define future processes aligned with organizational goals.
- Translate business needs into detailed functional requirements, acceptance criteria, and Azure DevOps work items/user stories.
- Ensure requirements are complete, consistent, testable, and aligned with business priorities.
- Collaborate with product owners, developers, and stakeholders to refine and validate requirements.
- Develop test plans, test scripts, and step-by-step testing instructions for functional and user acceptance testing.
- Execute functional testing of user stories in Development and Test environments to validate solution accuracy and readiness.
- Document defects, track resolution progress, and verify fixes.
- Coordinate, support, or lead user acceptance testing (UAT) sessions with business stakeholders.
- Serve as a liaison between business units and technical teams to ensure shared understanding and alignment.
- Communicate project updates, risks, and issues clearly and proactively.
- Support change management activities by contributing to training materials, documentation, and user guidance.
Requirements
- Experience in business analysis, process documentation, or related roles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to create clear process diagrams and workflow documentation.
- Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and test cases.
- Familiarity with DevOps or similar work item management tools.
- Hands-on experience with functional testing and UAT coordination.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
