Business Analyst

This role supports a multi-year transformation of our institutional securities business, building a shared enterprise platform to streamline order flow processing and settlement across markets, regions, and legal entities.

About the role

As a technically minded Senior Business Analyst, you will support the Head of Product for Institutional Securities in turning a strategic vision into well-defined, deliverable capabilities. This high-visibility global role offers exposure to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to shape how StoneX delivers institutional securities capability on a greenfield program.

Responsibilities

• Own the analysis behind enterprise order orchestration, defining how institutional orders are received, normalized, validated, enriched, routed, and reported with real-time status.
• Lead requirements definition for the first institutional products delivered on the platform, including electronic order acceptance, settlement visibility, broker give-up/take-up, FX/multi-currency handling, and cross-border trading.
• Map current versus target state across the order, trade, settlement, and funding lifecycles to identify opportunities for shared platform services and standardized flows.
• Become the in-house subject-matter expert on the platform’s capabilities and their alignment with business processes across desks, regions, and legal entities.
• Translate business and technical needs into clear user stories, functional specifications, message/field mappings, data dictionaries, and acceptance criteria in partnership with product, architecture, engineering, and operations teams.
• Support platform and vendor evaluations for build-versus-buy decisions by capturing requirements, defining criteria, and contributing to evidence-based recommendations.
• Partner with operations, clearing, settlement, treasury, and control functions to define exception handling, reconciliation, controls, and reporting requirements.
• Contribute to business cases and scope definition, presenting complex concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience leading analysis on complex, cross-functional technology projects, ideally in financial services or capital markets.
• Strong working knowledge of the securities trade lifecycle (order management, execution, allocation, clearing, and settlement) across equities, fixed income, or options.
• Hands-on experience with system integration, order/trade messaging (FIX), REST APIs, and event-driven messaging.
• Experience with order management, execution management, or post-trade/settlement platforms, including routing, matching, and settlement across markets and legal entities.
• Exposure to correspondent clearing, broker give-up/take-up, FX/multi-currency processing, or cross-border trading is advantageous.
• Proficiency in defining integration requirements (message normalization, field/data mapping, reference/static data, exception handling).
• Data analysis skills (Excel, SQL) and business process modeling (Visio/BPMN) to map current versus target states.
• Experience developing business cases and articulating value for investment/prioritization decisions in Agile/Scrum or Waterfall environments.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills with a track record of collaborating across front office, operations, and technology.
• Self-starter comfortable with ambiguity on a greenfield, multi-wave program; ability to work independently across global teams/time zones.
• Proven analytical problem-solving ability, multitasking, and prioritization in fast-paced environments.
• Maintains prompt and regular attendance.
