Business Analyst
About the Role
As the Business Analyst at Sigma Nursing, you will step into a role without a predefined playbook—writing that playbook is a core part of the job. The organization is establishing KPIs/OKRs, enterprise health and global impact dashboards, and growing data literacy among staff. You will work closely with and report to the Director of Strategic Initiatives to conceptualize, build, and maintain data reporting and visualization infrastructure that enables informed, confident decision-making by organizational and executive leadership.
This is not a traditional business analyst role with well-defined scope and existing systems. You will build from the ground up, translating vague stakeholder requests into clear, actionable reporting, identifying what is possible, and delivering solutions that are technically sound and genuinely usable. When you hand off a dashboard, you ensure the recipient understands and can use it independently.
Your primary output will be dynamic, refreshable, and audience-appropriate data visualizations and dashboards. In the near term, this means creating dashboards the executive leadership team can interpret confidently on their own. You will also contribute to an upcoming association management system (AMS) transition, including data cleanse, migration, architecture, and setup as the organization’s tech stack evolves.
You will collaborate primarily with the Director of Strategic Initiatives but will increasingly interface with staff across departments—Membership and Volunteer Engagement, Marketing, and Executive Services—to understand their data and reporting needs and design self-service solutions that reduce dependency over time. An indirect working relationship with the Director of Information Technology will also be part of your role, particularly on technology and systems projects.
Success in this role at six to twelve months looks like a global impact dashboard and an organizational health dashboard that are up, running, and actively used by leadership without hand-holding. It looks like a data-empowered staff, a clearer picture of the organization’s key metrics, and a foundation of reporting infrastructure that can grow with the organization.
This role is ideal for someone with a technical, data, or administrative background ready to move toward a more strategic, cross-functional scope. Over time, this position has potential to evolve toward executive-facing presentations, data strategy, and project leadership.
Responsibilities
- Conceptualize, build, and maintain data reporting and visualization infrastructure to support organizational and executive decision-making.

- Self-motivation and ability to prioritize effectively in uneven workloads or incomplete instructions.
- Clear and confident communication across audiences, including translating technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and executives.
- Background in data, systems, or organizational processes (e.g., technical, administrative, marketing, project management, or statistics).
- Ability to take feedback, push back constructively, and adapt without ego when direction changes.
- Willingness to work across a broader scope than a traditional business analyst role, including project management support and training development.
Preferred Qualifications
