Business Analyst

Position: Business Analyst Location: Tallahassee, FL Duration: 8 Months Job Summary Support the HR Automation initiative by gathering and analyzing requirements, managing project backlogs, and performing quality assurance activities. Serve as the primary liaison between HR Office, and technical teams, translating HR business needs into actionable user stories and functional specifications. Coordinate and develop project schedules, implementation plans, and supporting documentation for HR automation releases. Analyze and document current (As-Is) and future (To-Be) HR business processes, identifying opportunities for workflow automation. Facilitate work sessions with HR subject-matter experts to elicit and prioritize business, functional, data, and integration requirements. Conduct data analysis and document data requirements for new and existing HR processes. Evaluate and propose application integrations to support future HR business needs. Manage user stories, project backlog, and participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (e.g., daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) using Azure DevOps. Develop design specifications, mockups, and test strategies to ensure requirements are accurately addressed. Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) cycles, document findings, coordinate issue remediation, and obtain stakeholder sign-off. Summarize and present detailed data and project progress in executive-level and detailed documentation formats. Develop standardized desk procedures, process flows, and narratives to support business processes and user training. Produce comprehensive deliverables including project schedules, business/functional requirements, process documentation, design specifications, and testing artifacts. Apply knowledge of HR business processes, government workflow practices, Agile methodologies, and quality assurance standards. Utilize advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project) and tools such as Azure DevOps. Preferred: Experience with state government HR systems, payroll, position management, and strong data analysis/validation skills.
