Location: Harrisburg, PA. This is a 100% remote position; candidate must reside within a 2-hour radius of the Harrisburg region. Contract duration: 08/03/2026 – 06/30/2027 (historically extended for an additional year). Visas accepted: USC, GC, GC EAD, H1B.
About the role
The Business Analyst functions on an existing development team, collaborating with the customer and developers under a team lead to ensure the system meets desired outcomes. The candidate or their vendor must report onsite at the start and end of the contract to inventory and confirm Commonwealth-issued equipment; no equipment will be mailed.
Responsibilities
- Perform testing, requirements gathering, documentation, and customer support.
- Work with the customer and development team under the direction of a team lead.
- Assist with training, developing user guides, and other Business Analyst activities as needed.
- Create user stories, tasks, and bugs in Azure DevOps Studio or similar software.
- Communicate clearly with users and clients.
Requirements
- Experience with requirements gathering and supporting software in a Production Environment.
- Experience developing Business Requirements documentation and conducting full system testing.
- Experience with Automated Testing practices and software, such as Selenium.
- Strong organization and writing skills.
- Experience participating in Facilitated Workshops for requirements analysis.
- Experience testing or documenting accessibility-related requirements for software applications.
- Knowledge of formal requirements gathering methodologies.
- Experience developing:
- Functional requirements (what the system must do to fulfill business needs).
- User (stakeholder) requirements (interpreting stakeholder needs).
- Quality-of-service (non-functional) requirements, including performance, scalability, security, and usability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior Commonwealth experience.
- Experience working on a Scrum Team or in an Agile environment.
- Familiarity with testing accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1).
Schedule
Full-time: 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day, 5 days per week. Interviews will be conducted virtually.
