About the role

PSD Scotland unites expertise from NES and NSS in a way that will allow us to accelerate national programmes to support the NHS to deliver better care, now and in the future. We support staff with education and training, provide the tools and data that improve services, and run vital national functions such as procurement, logistics and blood, tissue and cell services.

PSD Technology Service (PTS) has created a strategic programme for the transformation of digital based services to allow PSD Scotland to become a leading digital organisation in Scottish Health, digital by default and fully aligned with the Scottish Government’s technology strategies.

The SCI diabetes team deliver the National Diabetes System for the NHS in Scotland - we are the foundation upon which medical professionals and ultimately citizens living with Diabetes can manage and improve all aspects of their care.

Responsibilities

Working within the Business Analysis function within the SCI-Diabetes Team you will: Working in an Agile environment, your primary activities include evaluating and prioritising change/product feature requests seeing these through to release.

Varying in complexity you’ll be developing business cases and supporting developers by providing clearly defined requirements, regularly reviewing progress, identifying opportunities to remove blockers and supporting testing.

Collaborating with users involved in Diabetic care provision across Scotland will provide valuable feedback not only in defining and prioritising activity but the real impact your work is having.

Building Training for updates and new features will help users in maximising the benefits of your work.

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience in collation, analysis and presentation of complex multi-stranded business/clinical user requirements
• A well-developed understanding of formalizing findings into requirements specification documents to be used as the main communication documents between user groups and software development teams
• Experience in tracking and monitoring project tasks and resources throughout the development lifecycle of complex bespoke clinical information management and technology projects
• Skill in assisting in the development of methods and procedures to facilitate the Business Analysis process

Skills

• Collation, analysis and presentation of complex and multi-stranded business/clinical user requirements

• Assisting in the development of methods and procedures to facilitate this process
• Tracking and monitoring of project tasks and resources throughout the development lifecycle of complex and protracted bespoke clinical Information Management & Technology projects
• System testing and oversee monitoring and reporting of incidents arising from a system testing process
• Demonstrate honesty, integrity, care and compassion when dealing with others, utilising tact and persuasion skills when necessary
• Ability to work on own initiative, to organise and prioritise own workloads, to meet strict deadlines
