Business Analyst
About the role
This Business Analyst will serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams to translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements. The role partners with Product Owners, Project/Program Managers, Engineering, QA, and business leaders to understand current-state processes, define future-state requirements, identify gaps, and support successful delivery of technology initiatives. The ideal candidate is analytical, comfortable working with both technical and business stakeholders, and able to bring structure and clarity to complex or ambiguous problems. This person will support a new backup product. Cellular or Wi-Fi experience is beneficial but not required.
Position is hybrid: 4 days onsite in Englewood, CO and 1 day work from home. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a W2 basis.
Responsibilities
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand business objectives, processes, challenges, and desired outcomes.
- Lead requirements-gathering sessions, stakeholder interviews, workshops, and discovery meetings.
- Translate business needs into detailed business and functional requirements.
- Develop user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, use cases, and other requirements documentation.
- Analyze current-state processes and identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, or technology enablement.
- Work closely with Product Owners and technical teams to refine requirements and maintain the product or project backlog.
- Serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and Engineering, Architecture, Data, and QA teams.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives.
- Identify dependencies, risks, assumptions, and gaps that could impact delivery.
- Support QA and UAT activities by validating test scenarios against business requirements.
- Assist business stakeholders with user acceptance testing and issue resolution.
- Maintain requirements traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
- Analyze data and reporting to validate business problems, measure outcomes, and support decision-making.
- Provide clear status updates and communicate requirements, risks, and decisions to stakeholders and leadership.
- Support implementation, change management, training, and post-production validation as needed.
Requirements
- 4+ years as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Product Analyst, or similar role within a technology environment.
- Experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements.
- Strong experience developing user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Experience working directly with software engineering and technical teams.
- Strong understanding of Agile or Scrum software development methodologies.
- Experience mapping business processes and documenting current-state and future-state workflows.
- Ability to analyze complex business problems and translate them into actionable technology requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate meetings with both business and technical stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and dependencies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in large enterprise technology environments.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, process-mapping tools, APIs, system integrations, data flows, or application development projects.

Pay
$50.00 to $55.00/hour (W2).
