Business Analyst

Business Analyst | Location: Remote | Contract | Hourly Pay Range: $41-$51 Our client is seeking a Business Analyst to support critical state government projects related to child welfare systems. This role involves detailed requirements analysis, process documentation, and facilitating user acceptance testing within a complex government environment. Key Responsibilities LEADS requirements gathering and analysis for state child welfare projects, including CCWIS and CCMS systems.DESIGNS and documents current and future-state business processes to address operational challenges and opportunities.DEVELOP functional and technical requirements to guide solution development and project planning.MANAGES and executes user acceptance testing to ensure system functionality and completeness.CREATES process models using formal notation such as BPMN to visualize complex workflows.PREPARES report specifications, requirements traceability matrices, and other documentation to support project deliverables.COLLABORATES with stakeholders across IT and business units to interpret needs and translate them into actionable requirements.SUPPORTS project lifecycle activities, including requirements validation and quality assurance. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.Extensive experience with State of Maine Child Welfare Systems and government projects.HIGH proficiency in business process modeling and analysis.ADVANCED skills in Excel for data analysis.Proven experience in developing business, functional, stakeholder, and non-functional requirements.STRONG ability to create workflows using BPMN notation.EXPERIENCE in requirements traceability, report specifications, and process documentation.EXCELLENT organizational, written, and communication skills.Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of government social services and child welfare programs.Experience in facilitating requirements workshops and creating detailed test plans.Familiarity with formal requirements gathering methodologies.
