Business Analyst
Careerscape is recruiting on behalf of a growing consulting and technology firm in Chicago for an experienced Business Analyst to join their hybrid team. This role sits at the intersection of business strategy and technology delivery, translating complex stakeholder needs into clear requirements and driving impactful client projects.
About the role
Day to day, you will spend time in discovery sessions, mapping current and future state processes, and turning messy inputs into structured documentation that developers, project managers, and business leaders can all act on. The ideal candidate thrives on asking the right questions, feels comfortable presenting findings to stakeholders at every level, and enjoys backing recommendations with solid data rather than gut instinct.
Responsibilities
- Lead requirements gathering sessions with business and technical stakeholders
- Document current and future state business processes through detailed process maps
- Translate business needs into clear, actionable functional and technical requirements
- Facilitate workshops and interviews to uncover pain points and improvement opportunities
- Analyze data sets to identify trends and support data-driven recommendations
- Partner with project managers to define scope, timelines, and success metrics
- Create and maintain business requirement documents, user stories, and process flows
- Communicate findings and recommendations to executive and operational stakeholders
- Support UAT planning and validate that delivered solutions meet business needs
- Track project progress and flag risks or scope changes early
Requirements
- 3 to 6 years of experience as a Business Analyst in a consulting or technology environment
- Proven experience with requirements gathering and business process mapping
- Strong stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical audiences
- Proficiency with process mapping tools such as Visio or Lucidchart
- Experience with SQL or other data analysis tools to support recommendations
- Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall project delivery methodologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field
- Business analysis certification such as CBAP or CCBA is a plus

Pay
The salary range for this role is $78,000 - $105,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
