Position Overview Our biopharmaceutical client is seeking a Business Analyst – Technical Writing & Reporting to support major data architecture, systems integration, and cross-functional technology initiatives. The ideal candidate will combine strong business analysis, technical writing, documentation, and reporting skills to transform complex technical information into clear, accurate, and actionable communications for technical teams, business stakeholders, project leadership, and executives. This role will be responsible for capturing and maintaining requirements, decisions, risks, dependencies, action items, technical findings, program status, and other critical project information while ensuring documentation remains accurate, consistent, and easy to understand. Key Responsibilities Gather information from technical, business, data, quality, validation, and project stakeholders and translate it into clear, structured written deliverables. Develop and maintain technical documentation, program reports, status summaries, meeting materials, presentations, and leadership updates. Translate complex technical discussions and concepts into concise, business-friendly communications. Document requirements, decisions, assumptions, dependencies, risks, issues, action items, and technical findings. Support recurring project, program, and workstream status reporting. Create and maintain standardized documentation and reporting templates across the program. Support documentation related to systems integration, data flows, interfaces, testing, qualification, change control, and delivery readiness. Prepare meeting notes, action-item trackers, decision logs, and follow-up documentation. Work closely with subject-matter experts to verify technical accuracy before documentation is distributed. Maintain documentation, traceability, and project information using Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, Microsoft Office, or comparable tools. Consolidate information from multiple sources and stakeholders into accurate, executive-ready reports. Identify gaps, inconsistencies, dependencies, and risks within project documentation and escalate them appropriately. Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent communication and documentation throughout the project lifecycle. Required Qualifications Proven experience as a Business Analyst with a strong focus on technical writing, technical documentation, technical reporting, or a related discipline. Strong ability to translate complex technical information into clear communications for business, leadership, and cross-functional audiences. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to synthesize information from multiple stakeholders, meetings, documents, and technical sources. Experience supporting complex, cross-functional programs in life sciences, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, manufacturing, technology, or another regulated environment. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain documentation accuracy and consistency. Experience documenting requirements, decisions, risks, issues, dependencies, actions, and project status. Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders at various organizational levels. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Preferred Qualifications Direct experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences industry. Experience supporting data architecture, systems integration, data flows, interfaces, or enterprise technology programs. Experience with Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, Microsoft Office, or similar documentation and collaboration platforms. Experience working in regulated environments with validation, qualification, change control, or compliance-related documentation. Experience preparing executive-level status reports and leadership communications. Experience creating standardized templates, reporting frameworks, and documentation processes. Education Education is not the primary factor for this position. Relevant professional experience, technical writing ability, business analysis expertise, and communication skills will be weighted more heavily than formal education. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with both technical and business teams. They should be able to listen to complex discussions, understand the key information, and turn it into clear, professional documentation and reporting that stakeholders can quickly understand and act upon. Important: This is a fully onsite position in Upstate New York. Candidates must be comfortable working onsite 5 days per week. Sponsorship is not available.
