Business Analyst
About the role
The role involves partnering with product managers and business stakeholders to analyze data processing challenges and user requirements, automating or enhancing existing systems. The Business Analyst will facilitate requirements gathering sessions, document detailed functional requirements, and serve as the liaison between business and technical teams.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate requirements gathering sessions and document detailed functional requirements.
- Create, maintain, and update Business Requirements Documents (BRDs).
- Partner with the Product Owner and development team to translate requirements into user stories and define clear acceptance criteria.
- Discuss and document both functional and non-functional requirements, including technical dependencies, integrations, and performance considerations.
- Independently drive requirement clarification, identify gaps, and follow up with stakeholders.
- Lead discussions with business partners, technical teams, and product leadership.
- Gather requirements from business units and translate them for programmers and developers.
- Prepare cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses for system implementation decisions.
- Serve as the liaison between business and technical teams to ensure requirements are understood and delivered.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or a related field is required.
- Experience serving as the liaison between business and technical teams is necessary.
- Must be capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
- Basic knowledge of design techniques and principles.
- Basic knowledge of computer software, such as Visual Basic, Java, SQL, etc.
- Strong meeting facilitation skills.
