Responsibilities
- Requirements & Analysis
- Elicit, analyze, and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements for SaaS, on-premises, and embedded hardware-enabled solutions.
- Translate customer, operational, and regulatory needs into clear user stories, use cases, workflows, and acceptance criteria.
- Decompose complex system requirements involving software-hardware interactions into manageable components.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders, product managers, software engineers, hardware engineers, QA teams, and customer-facing teams.
- Facilitate requirements workshops, establish backlog, lead backlog grooming sessions, and guide design discussions.
- Clarify scope, assumptions, dependencies, and constraints throughout the development lifecycle.
- Product, Customer & Solution Support
- Support product managers with roadmap planning, feature prioritization, and impact analysis.
- Assist engineering teams during design, development, testing, and release by answering requirement-related questions and managing changes.
- Participate in system integration, UAT, and customer acceptance activities.
- Customer Training & Enablement
- Support customer training initiatives by helping develop training materials, documentation, and system workflows.
- Conduct or assist with customer training sessions, product walkthroughs, and knowledge-transfer meetings as needed.
- Act as a subject-matter resource for explaining system functionality, configuration options, and business processes to customers.
- Capture training feedback and customer insights to inform product improvements and future requirements.
- Documentation & Process Improvement
- Maintain accurate requirements documentation, traceability matrices, process flows, and user guides.
- Identify opportunities to improve business processes, system usability, customer adoption, and operational efficiency.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of BA standards, templates, and best practices.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar role in a software or technology-driven environment.
- Experience working with large and complex requirement sets, with the ability to group, analyze, and prioritize effectively based on business value and delivery timelines.
- Experience supporting SaaS and/or on-premises enterprise software solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to gather and document requirements in Agile and/or hybrid environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting information to customers and non-technical audiences.
- Experience supporting or delivering customer training, onboarding, or enablement activities.
- Experience working in fast-paced project environments, demonstrating the ability to adapt quickly, manage shifting priorities, and deliver high-quality outputs under tight deadlines.
- Experience with embedded systems, hardware-software integration, or IoT-enabled products is desirable but not required.
- Experience with Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), traffic signals, and/or traffic engineering/planning is desirable but not required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, or equivalent work experience, preferably in Business, Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, or similar certification preferred, but not required.
