Business Analyst

About the role

AgWest Farm Credit is a member-owned financial cooperative serving farmers, ranchers, agribusinesses, commercial fishermen, timber producers, rural homeowners and crop insurance customers across a seven-state territory in the Western United States. As part of the 100+ year-old Farm Credit System, AgWest champions agricultural growth, rural communities, and the broader economy. The Business Analyst I or II will join the Business Analysis department in Spokane, Washington, reporting to the Director, Business Analysis. This role partners with business teams to gather requirements, evaluate processes, recommend solutions, and implement process and technology improvements that advance the organization’s strategic objectives. It also includes project management responsibilities for small to medium projects.

Responsibilities

• Work with business teams to develop, articulate, and document business requirements aligned with intended outcomes.
• Participate in business process improvement, solution design, and testing to ensure options are fully explored and results meet expectations.
• Assist in researching and drafting business case recommendations supported by cost/benefit analysis.
• Implement business process and/or technical solutions that improve organizational efficiencies and customer experience across business areas.
• Perform post-implementation analysis to measure adoption and identify follow-up actions.
• Participate in journey mapping sessions to identify personas and opportunities; create artifacts for management review.
• Spend approximately 20% of time coordinating work for specific project areas or small projects in a project management capacity.
• Ensure work complies with AgWest’s project management and business analysis methodologies and IT general control requirements.
• Maintain accurate project portfolio information and generate timely reports.
• Facilitate the Innovation Station process by gathering additional information to determine next steps.
• Support monthly staff calls by drafting materials and assisting with facilitation as needed.
• Maintain a strong working knowledge of AgWest business practices, products, and key systems.
• Perform all duties in accordance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, information systems, computer science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Generally requires at least one year of business analysis or related experience, ideally in financial institution operations.
• Understanding of business case preparation and business requirement elicitation techniques.
• Ability to learn and develop business analysis skills with guidance on new tasks and assignments.
• Understanding of basic business analysis and project management concepts.
• Ability to plan, prioritize, organize, and control assigned activities.
• Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office tools including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Pay

• Business Analyst I
  • Typical starting range: $53,600 – $71,900
  • Full base salary range: $53,600 – $81,000
  • Annual performance-based incentive target: 8% of base
• Business Analyst II
  • Typical starting range: $60,000 – $80,300
  • Full base salary range: $60,000 – $113,600
  • Annual performance-based incentive target: 8% or 10% of base depending on experience
• Relocation assistance will be provided to eligible candidates who must relocate.
