Business Administration Instructor/Business Program Coordinator

Contract term: 10 months, 37.5 hours per week, on-site. FLSA exempt.

About the role

This position will oversee the Business Administration (BA) Associate in Applied Science program and transfer opportunities, and provide instruction in several BAS courses such as BAS 160 Introduction to Business, BAS 282 Principles of Marketing, and BAS 283 Principles of Management. You may work from any of the six campuses—Cumberland, Harlan, Knox, Middlesboro, Pineville, and Whitesburg—and may need to travel to other campuses as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all aspects of the BA program including instruction, development of course materials and resources, recruiting qualified adjunct instructors, budget management, and assessment of student achievement
  • Teach a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester (24 credit hours in Fall and Spring combined), with assignments potentially spanning multiple campuses and/or online
  • Guide student practicums and internships
  • Ensure the program meets and maintains all applicable regional accreditation requirements, including annual Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs), Program Outcomes (POs), and Program Review
  • Engage in active student recruitment and retention activities
  • Maintain awareness of transfer requirements for 4-year institutions and facilitate student transfers
  • Serve as Chair of the BA Program Advisory Committee and seek its input to keep the program current and relevant
  • Maintain awareness of emerging business and economic trends
  • Represent the BA programs to community partners, groups, and professional organizations
  • Participate in faculty professional development
  • Serve as the College representative at the System BA Curriculum Committee
  • Collaborate with business and industry for internship placement, curriculum alignment, and program advisement
  • Assist BA adjunct instructors with teaching methodology, educational materials, and technology
  • Participate in college and community activities that serve the mission and vision of Southeast KY Community & Technical College

Requirements

  • Master of Business Administration or equivalent is required, with 18 graduate hours in accounting
  • Demonstrated proficiency with instructional technology, as well as written, verbal, and interpersonal communication
  • Strong commitment to excellence in teaching and working within the community and technical college mission
