Bus Technician

About the role

Bus Technician at Davey Coach Sales in Norwalk, CA. Responsible for diagnosing and repairing vehicles, performing maintenance, and assisting other technicians.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, diagnose, and evaluate damaged vehicles to determine repair or service needs and potential replacement of parts.
• Identify opportunities to upsell to customers and address DOT inspections.
• Maintain shop vehicles.
• Assist other Technicians on the diagnosis of difficult or abnormal repairs or services.
• Accurately estimate costs for repairs, maintenance, and service required.
• Perform advanced, basic, and minor repairs such as brake and hydraulic, exhaust, engine and transmission, fuel ignition, electrical, suspension and alignment, restraints and airbags, wheelchair lifts, air conditioning, and computer systems.
• Inspect and test all mechanical repairs to meet manufacturers' specifications. Road test vehicles when required.
• Maintain regular communication with the dispatcher to handle requests for appointments.
• Communicate with production team to keep vehicles on schedule for on-time delivery.

Requirements

• High School diploma/GED required. Auto mechanic vocational graduate preferred.
• 2+ years of automobile or automotive mechanical/electrical diagnosis, problem solving, and repair experience in related industry preferred.
• ASE certification.
• Must have a large selection of tools to perform most jobs.
• Experience diagnosing problems – mechanical, repairing, rebuilding, and overhauling mechanical, electrical, electronic, and/or hydraulic systems in a wide variety of automotive vehicles.
• Knowledge of using manufacturers' service and repair manuals.
• Highly organized, able to prioritize multiple concurrent assignments.

Pay

$34.00 - $55.00 per hour
