Responsibilities
- Transport passengers safely and courteously according to specified routes, making only designated stops unless otherwise communicated by the Dispatch Office.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws regarding bus operation, traffic, and safety.
- Ensure the highest quality of service is delivered to customers.
- Assist customers in a safe, friendly, courteous, and helpful manner, including helping customers with disabilities and operating the wheelchair lift.
- Promote safety awareness and follow safety procedures to reduce or eliminate accidents.
- Operate assigned vehicles to meet customer standards and comply with all company safety rules.
- Safely and efficiently operate all equipment, including lift, radio, emergency equipment, hatches, and rear engine compartment door.
- Perform pre-trip inspections to ensure the bus and equipment are in safe, proper working condition.
- Coordinate detour, accident, and incident information with radio dispatch and respond to instructions.
- Make effective independent decisions and manage conflicts based on safety, experience, training, and policies.
- Report and properly follow up on all accidents or unusual incidents involving RATP Dev/Go-Durham vehicles.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
- Must pass a DOT Physical exam.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid North Carolina CDL Permit with passenger and air brake endorsements, or a full CDL A or B with the same endorsements.
Skills
- CDL A or B with Passenger Endorsement.
- Valid driver’s license.
Pay
$20.63 per hour.
