About the role

Responsibilities
- Daily bus driving on designated routes throughout the JT system, as assigned.
- Operate in accordance with established rules and standards, prioritizing safety at all times.
- Provide excellent customer service to the public, handling fares, route and scheduling information, conducting pre-trip inspections, and maintaining a timely schedule.
- Securely transport mobility devices and perform daily pre-trip inspections, paperwork, and bus maintenance.
- Follow all safety regulations, report unsafe conditions and incidents to the supervisor, and adhere to safe work practices.
- Perform other special projects and duties as assigned or required during regular and non-business hours.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent, or related field.
- Aged 21 or older.
- At least three (3) years of driving experience.
- Possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement and no air brake restrictions.
- Excellent driving record, as reported by the State Motor Vehicle Department.
- Excellent prior work record.
- Experience transporting passengers (coach/school bus, transit bus, paratransit, shuttle van, minibus/cutaway, taxi, rideshare, etc.) is desired.
- Customer service experience is desired.
- A valid, state-issued driver’s license at the time of hire is required.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills, paired with a strong customer service background, and effective interpersonal skills.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical examination including a drug screen.
- Ability to identify and report vehicle defects.
- Ability to comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures, and report all unsafe activities or conditions to the supervisor.
- Ability to keep daily records of completed tasks.
- Ability to effectively learn and use Information Technology processes aboard the bus, such as tablets for inspections and fare collection.
- Ability to comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures, and report all unsafe activities or conditions to the supervisor.
- Ability to maintain a valid, state-issued driver’s license.
